![]() Jane HendersonI have been practising as a massage therapist for 10 years. I gained a BSC (Hons) in sports and exercise science at university, then went onto to study sports massage. I had always had a great interest and passion for the therapy aspect and really wanted to have a much more practical application within health and fitness.I studied sports and remedial massage after leaving university then managed to put some of these skills to good use whilst travelling all over the world for 3 years.I studied Thai massage whilst in Thailand and feel that its added to my knowledge as therapist. I encorporate a great deal of stretching into my treatments and focus on posture. I think it's important to have a holistic and balanced approach when treating clients. When I returned to the UK, I got involved in onsite massage, seated chair massage. It is a Japanese style of massage called Anma, which focuses on pressure points, this too I also mix in with my treatments. It is ideal for companies as a part of stress management and also works well in the home. I studied shiatsu massage for pregnancy 2 years ago as I had a great interest in working with pregnant women and felt that massage generally was very lacking for this group. The course was very in depth and I learnt to work with women pre natal, ante natal and post natal and feel very confident in doing so., It's so enjoyable to do and great to see the results that one gets from doing so. The feedback has been very positive and I also give advice on training throughout pregnancy and in the post natal period. I have been a practicing personal trainer for the past 10 years and feel that fitness combined with massage seems to work very well with my clients. I enjoy fitness and sport and have been a keen athlete over the years. For the last two years I have been practicing Karate. I like to ski, walk, go to the gym as often as I can. I specialize in postural work, general body conditioning and also spezialize in pre-natal, ante natal and post natal training.
